This week we are proud to announce the redesign of Union Institute & University’s website. The original “university without walls” – an institution where working adults have the opportunity to pursue a degree regardless of where they live and work – Union is an accredited, private, national university that offers personalized undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs designed for the lifelong learner.
As Union has grown over the years – from a consortium of 10 regional colleges to an independent degree-granting institution and the acquisition of Vermont College – its website kept adding pages with different looks to them. There were so many different looks, with different navigational structures and color palettes, that it was beginning to be difficult to tell if you were still on Union’s website. Additionally, the site’s URL, www.tui.edu, was tough for even faculty and staff to remember.
Under the banner of, “Change Your Thinking,” the new website at myunion.edu, helps showcase how Union Institute & University has redefined higher education by placing learners at the center of their own education. The site highlights current students and alumni and shows how Union changed their thinking – about their educations and their lives. In addition to interviewing Union faculty, staff, learners, and alumni at Union’s Cincinnati Academic Center, the Creative Department’s interactive team visited the Brattleboro, Vermont Academic Center where they observed two weekend residency programs and commencement ceremonies for the Bachelor of Arts program.
Built on Adobe Contribute, a flexible Content Management System (CMS) that allows for additional content updates without learning HTML, the new design empowers the Union staff to easily keep the site fresh and relevant for current and prospective students.
