Microsoft recently showcased Creative Department client, BHDP Architecture, and their new corporate intranet site built on MS Office SharePoint Server 2007. Named Kiva, after the room where ancient Pueblo elders gathered, the site was conceived and designed by the Creative Department, and implemented by frequent CD collaborator, US Digital Partners.
Previously BHDP struggled to share knowledge, but the new site has allowed the offices and employees of the growing architecture firm to connect quickly and seamlessly. Within just a few months of Kiva’s implementation:
• BHDP had more than 2,000 contacts in its business development site.
• The number of new business prospects rose to 130 and the firm identified more than 80 active sales opportunities.
• For the first time, sales staff can analyze up-to-date information in their weekly meetings, making these sessions more valuable.
• So many new ways to apply SharePoint emerged that the company created a virtual “suggestion box to consider and track them all. Employees have been creative in their recommendations.
• The firm gained peace of mind in knowing that the latest software offers the latest security. Furthermore, with its standardized software, BHDP can more easily track and deploy security updates across the enterprise.
• Classes and credits for staff professional education are now managed through a streamlined and centralized training site.
• A research wiki, team sites and an image library allow for better project management, where employees share architecture and workplace design knowledge.
Congrats to everyone involved. We’re looking forward to further evolving the BHDP brand and delivering integrated marketing communications that lead the firm down their long-term strategic path of growth.
